The Centre for Eastern European Jewish History at Vilnius University and the Taube Department of Jewish Studies at the University of Wrocław invite proposals for the international conference “Beyond Digital Awe. European Jewish Studies and the Challenge of Digital Humanities.”
The organizers encourage proposals that address topics including, but not limited to:
➤ New digital tools and methods for studying Jewish history, texts, and cultures.
➤ Digitisation projects involving Yiddish, Hebrew, or other multilingual sources.
➤ Data sharing, linking and FAIR practices in Jewish Studies.
➤ Uses of AI, HTR, OCR, or cartographic methods in DH projects.
➤ Public engagement and citizen science in Jewish Studies.
➤ Reflections on the epistemological boundaries between DH and Jewish Studies.
➤ Digital curatorship in Jewish museums and archives.
Proposals for presentations should be submitted via on-line form by July 31.
Notification of acceptance will be sent by August 31.
