On April 16, 2026, the presentation of the project Bibliographic Database “Jewish Studies in Independent Ukraine” was held at the JDC-supported Beit Dan Jewish Community Center in Kharkiv. This project is managed by the Ukrainian Association of Jewish Studies (UAJS) in partnership with UNESCO Ukraine with financial support from the European Union.

The database project was presented by the Head of the UAJS Academic Board Eugeny Kotlyar and the UAJS President Vitaly Chernoivanenko (via Zoom).

The researchers discussed the current status of the project, the search and verification of bibliographic data, the preparation of the future website, and the overall challenges the project team faced during the recent long blackouts. Despite this, the project is progressing successfully and is nearing completion.

In addition, Professor Kotlyar spoke about other Ukrainian scholarly and artistic projects in the field of Jewish Studies that are being implemented in Ukraine and abroad during the full-scale war.

Among the participants of the event (including online participation) were associates of the Beit Dan JCC, Korolenko Kharkiv State Scientific Library, Central Scientific Library of Karazin University, and other institutions of Kharkiv.
